Although Kannada hudugi Anushka Shetty a popular name in the Telugu and Tamil film industry, is yet to make her Kannada debut. But all that is about to change? According to an entertainment daily, Anushka has a mind set on coming to Sandalwood and she has already chosen Nanjangud’s Nagarathnamma’s life story to make her debut in Kannada cinema.
Nanjangud Nagarathnamma was the daughter of Devadasi who lived in the 17th century and her story is filled with challenges and victory. Her mother was the mistress of a rich man in Mysore. Nagarathnamma was one of the finest Carnatic singers of her time. Impressed with her indigenous talent in dance, the then ruler of Mysore, Sri Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar made her the Ashthana Vidushi (court dancer) of Mysore.
An official confirmation around the film is yet to be made by the actress, but we just cannot wait for it!
